If you plan on doing crazy deep swimming there is one lifeguard station close to the entrance and building.We learned of this beach from two locals who we met on Congress Street while walking our yellow lab. Unfortunately we could not access beach with our dog. If playground groups and group homes are visiting the beach, the snack bar lines are long. Smaller waves, perfect for paddle boarding and kayaking but not ideal for surfing. The park's 1.4-km pocket beach is subject to erosion from wind and water. The tide conditions at Portland Head Light, Casco Bay, Maine can diverge from the tide conditions at Crescent Beach/Cape Elizabeth. The tide calendar is available worldwide. These crazy grumpy terrible women were mean to me and my friends bc they were too fucken stupid to write our group down on there calender when we called them IN ADVANCE and they said we COULDNT COME IN even tho we got in but they were just so nasty and rude it ruined my day!

Has beautiful sand dunes and sea grass, lots of ducks swimming around at this time, water was cool and refreshing.I have been coming to Crescent Beach in the nearby town of Cape Elizabeth for most of my life. Nice bath houses (cold showers with curtains, toilets, sinks) and a Snack bar with limited hours. You'll view the gorgeous coastline from a completely new perspective, get some exercise and glide across the protected waters near the beach looking out for seabirds and seals. So, if you are looking for a nice day at the beach then I would highly recommend spending it at Crescent Beach State Park.Very clean and expansive sandy beach for the area. Sandy oceanfront beaches, saltwater coves, wooded areas, and rock ledges provide seashore recreation for beachgoers, fishing and watersports enthusiasts, and nature observers. The park's signature feature and namesake is a mile-long, crescent-shaped beach ideal for strolling and sunbathing, where relatively warm waters and light surf make swimming and boating a pleasure. This is my go-to beach when I'm staying in Portland and after careful consideration, here's my pro/con list.It's $8 a person, so if you don't have a park pass, come early to really get a whole day of entertainment on the cheap. "Or is it because my dark complexion has become even darker under the blazing sun" whatever it was is totally worth it...I love to find time from my busy schedule to come here and ease my body on to the sand and stare at the deep blue to find my soul restored again.Another great find thanks to Yelp reviews. Many a moments I have fallen asleep after a quick deep in the nice cold cold Atlantic sea to find throngs of people gaze at me in awkward curiosity... "Was I snoring?"
