Our students and the marchers honored the lives and sacrifice of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many more. A formal hearing on the protest has been set for 9 a.m. on Nov. 30.According to Pridgen, the eligibility of 24 voters is being challenged.“It’s saying that people voted who should not have voted, and enough voted who should not have voted that it could change the election,” Pridgen said.Most of the challenges concern whether the voters live at the addresses they gave, Pridgen said.Initial results showed Cummings getting 190 votes, with former Pembroke Town Councilmen Allen Dial winning the contest by seven. Originally the protest was set to take place at Riverside Park, but organizers moved the location to the Pembroke Marina at the Amphitheater.
