The "romance" between Aura and the Kid develops oddly, just as one would expect anything with Prince to... the music is great, the dialogue throughout is very lyrical (almost like word jazz; the pacing, flow, and delivery is more important than the words uttered.
Prince sleeps and mumbles.
And honestly, the acting is horrible. True, it's like a hip-hop-gospel musical in which no one has bothered to learn how to act. This is strictly for the die-hard Prince fans.Keep track of everything you watch; tell your friends.

Now the music in the movie was slamming because Prince is always on point when it comes to music, but the rest doesn't make a lot of sense. Even if you like his music, forcing yourself to submit to this boring, pretentious, disjointed tribute by an egomaniac to himself isn't worth it. There are a lot of songs. It is a musical and nothing else.
I have no doubt Prince still makes great music, but this movie proved that sometimes he's simply too weird for even my tastes. Do sinners have souls?

The total distinction in each and every song being unique is beautiful.
The plot lacks sunstance, and viewers are left with little comprehension and a lot of guesswork. Where do you start?

It's far shorter and it's way goofier - doesn't take itself as seriously. still a timeless classic. I am a die-hard fan of Prince and his music, but even I thought this movie was horrible! Was this review helpful to you? There can't be more than a few hundred people on earth who really dug this movie, but I have it and I think it's the bomb.

Does anyone know if angels exist? Morris Day is good as usual, but he doesn't have much of a script to work with. Too much style. This is a hideously, embarrassingly bad film. And the forget the set, because it doesn't even try to look real. Taken as a whole, and with an open mind, this movie works well. Now, I know that it is a pseudo-sequel to the much-better and more coherent Purple Rain and it showed, especially with all the motorcycle trips out to the "graffiti bridge" (very similar in appearance to some of the lake sequences in the previous movie). The stage bits are all right but the idea that people are all turned off by Princes' wonderful music is laughable at best. That's the question I was asking myself as I watched it. ), the sets and costumes are ethereal. Each character had a very clear role and very clearly expressed what that role is.
So don't watch "Graffiti Bridge" expecting a real movie with drama and great acting. And, while he's no De Niro, with his expressive face, I don't think he's that terrible an actor either. An extended video version of the track 'Partyman', of which the shorter album version was originally issued on the Batman soundtrack. A collection of music videos from Prince's album "Gett Off".
She wasn't, but the movie kind of got to me, and was instrumental in my getting over my phobic "hatred" of Prince. Would you know an angel if you saw one? Plodding, plotless, static, a terrible, terrible mistake. Thanks again Prince.
